Impact of HLA Matching and HLA Antibodies in Organ Transplantation: A Collaborative Transplant Studs voluntary international effort, and from the beginning of the study, the impact on graft outcome of immunological factors, such as matching for HLA antigens and allosensitization to HLA and non-HLA antigens, have been areas of interest. Herein, we summarize the recent findings from the CTS on these two topics.

Detection of Allo-HLA Cross-Reactivity by Virus-specific Memory T-Cell Clones Using Single HLA-Tran antigen-transfected K562 cells (SALs), the human alloresponse can for the first time be examined specifically and reliably. Here we describe a method for detection of “heterologous immunity” from virus-specific memory T-cells using single HLA expressing cell lines as allogeneic targets.
