Mechanisms of GABAergic Regulation of Neurosecretion in Chromaffin Cells,γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA), the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the Central Nervous System (CNS), is also present in several peripheral tissues, where it has a functional role in the regulation of muscle contraction or hormonal secretion (for a review, see Tanaka & Taniyama, 1992).

Cell Signal Transduction, Second Messengers and Protein Phosphorylation in Health and Disease,l signals such as light, odorants and chemical messengers between neighboring or distant cells. The interaction of these factors with specific receptors at the cell surface constitutes the first step in a cascade of biochemical events that underlies transmembrane signaling.

Signal Transduction in T Cells Through the Interleukin 2 Receptor,of IL-2 with specific high affinity receptors (IL-2R) expressed on T cells upon activation induces T cell proliferation. However, the molecular bases of IL-2 induced signal transduction mechanism are poorly understood.

Modulation by Phosphorylation of Microtubule Protein Function in the Development of Neural Processeendrites is indicated. That role is based in the association of MAPs to microtubules. The association of MAPs to microtubules is mainly modulated by phosphorylation and that association regulates the degree of microtubule stability. The presence of stable microtubules correlates with that of cytoplasmic extensions.

Hydrolysis of Phospholipids and Activation of Protein Kinase C for Intracellular Signalling, racellular signals into intracellular events through activation of protein kinase C. It is becoming clear that agonist-induced hydrolysis of various membrane phospholipids, particularly choline phospholipid, by phospholipase A. and phospholipase D also takes part in cellular responses such as cell p
