Systematics of Optical Gaps in Perovskite-Type 3d Transition Metal Oxidest .. The low-energy feature is governed by electronic states in the .-O network. The overall trend of the gap variation agrees well with the Zaanen-Sawatzky-Allen framework. We can also estimate the Hund coupling constant and ligand field effect from the optical spectra.

Optical Spectroscopy on the Mott Transition in Perovskite-Type Titanatesal hole-doping. In the barely metallic state near such a filling-controlled Mott transition, strong enhancement of the carrier effective mass has been observed. Optical spectroscopy has revealed the change of electronic structures with doping and its dependence on the strength of electron correlation.
