Detection of Meiotic DNA Breaks in Mouse Testicular Germ Cellscombination hot spot at the . gene. Breaks that were due to meiotic hot spot activity could be distinguished from the background of DNA breaks. This highly sensitive approach could be used to study other biological processes where rare DNA breaks are generated.

Analysis of Protein–DNA Interactions During Meiosis by Quantitative Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (qal loci during meiosis. We show that Mre11 interacts with a known hotspot region (.) in the R-band of chromosome III, but not with a cold region in the G-band (.). Interestingly Mre11 binds to a cohesin binding site (. ), 20 kb distal to ., with similar intensity as to the hotspot, despite the absence of DSBs in this region.
