The Effects of Feeding Various Dietary Fats on the Development and Regression of Hypercholesterolemntages of using the Rhesus monkey model of atherosclerosis produced by dietary means have been reviewed recently (5) and will not be repeated here. Suffice it to say that most of the disadvantages of this experimental model can be overcome by diligent work.

The Effects of Lipids and Fatty Acids on Blood Coagulation and Platelets in Relation to Thrombosis,ations, in the course of which they aggregate and acquire procoagulant properties. It is of particular interest that lipids and fatty acids are known to interact with platelets and with the blood clotting system, and this again justifies the inclusion of a chapter on thrombosis in this series of articles on diet and atherosclerosis.

Adrenal Crisis/Adrenal Insufficiencyt dietary fats alter platelet function and that this might occur as a consequence of alterations of platelet lipids. Thus far, feeding studies in man and animals have shown alterations in platelet factor 3 (PF-3), platelet aggregation, and platelet lipids.
