DNA Isolation by Chelex Methodegradation by chelating metal ions. This method is particularly beneficial for forensic applications, but it is not appropriate for large-scale DNA extraction. The resulting single-stranded DNA is less stable, therefore, not suitable for long-term storage and RFLP analysis.

DNA Extraction by Spooling Methodling of precipitated DNA fibers on the glass rod or stirring rod under cold temperature conditions. Though the obtained DNA is free from proteins and other impurities, further processing of this DNA might be required for specific molecular biological applications.
