Here I want to locate my discussion within wider understandings of critical pedagogy, to pave the way for an exploration of classroom-based critical reading.

Here I take a more fine-tuned look at the classroom text, in particular the manner in which the social and the pedagogic intertwine, as students and teacher share their responses to texts.

The classroom study aims to illustrate the way in which some of the principles discussed earlier come into play in a specific setting. Here I shall give a brief account of the specific procedures and tools adopted, why they were adopted and how they mesh with the larger design of the enquiry.
