Case Study on Smart Education During a Global Pandemic: A Hybrid, International Course on Global Sofse on global software engineering, jointly held by two universities, one in Japan and one in Germany, is described. Challenges posed when conducting a distributed course simultaneously in-person and online are described. Experiences reported by students are described. The results of the course are evaluated according to Smart Education levels.
