Linear Dynamical Systems,systems, namely controllability, observability, stabilizability and detectability. Several characterizations of these properties are given and the Kaiman decomposition of the state space is presented. They are used in the formulation and the proofs of the theorems describing .. and .. optimal controllers.

Rational Transfer Functions,ed elementary plants, we get typical examples for SISO transfer functions occurring in classical control. In many practical cases such a transfer function is stable, with the possible exception of one pole at the origin. Moreover, the complex poles are well damped.
