图书封面Titlebook: Neurodegenerative Diseases; Pathology, Mechanism Philip Beart,Michael Robinson,Nicholas J. Maragaki Book 2017 Springer International Publis
描述Provides a timely overview of critical advances in molecular and cellular neurobiology, covers key methodologies driving progress, and highlights key future directions for research on neuronal injury and neurodegeneration relevant to neuronal brain pathologies. The editors bring together contributions from internationally recognized workers in the field to provide an up to date account of how and why molecular and cellular neurobiology is such an important area for clinical neuroscience. Understanding the molecular aspects of a number of neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson‘s or Alzheimer‘s disease for the purpose of improving patient management remains a major challenge of neurobiology be it from the basic or clinical perspective. A strategic evaluation of research contributions and the power of modern methods will help advance knowledge over the next years.

Clinical Aspects of Alzheimer’s Diseaseimer’s disease and provides an overview of the clinical syndromes associated with Alzheimer pathology and their associated neuroimaging findings. This chapter also reviews the neuropathology and genetics of Alzheimer’s disease and concludes by discussing current work undertaken to identify suitable in vivo biomarkers for the disease.

Parkinson’s Disease: Basic Pathomechanisms and a Clinical Overviewisease. The majority of existing treatments target motor symptom control. Over the last two decades the impact of the genetic contribution to PD has been appreciated. Significant discoveries have been made, which have advanced our understanding of the pathophysiological and molecular basis of PD. In

Huntington’s Disease: Pathogenic Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targetsptoms, cognitive deficits culminating in dementia, and the movement disorder epitomised by motor signs such as chorea. HD is caused by a CAG repeat expansion encoding an extended tract of the amino acid glutamine in the huntingtin protein. This polyglutamine expansion appears to induce a ‘change of
