Neuroglial Activation in the Nervous System Following Injury: Role of Cytokines,rimental model of the cellular reactions. This remote lesion triggers changes primarily in the neuronal transcriptome, e.g., for immediate early genes. This is followed by activation of local microglial cells and reactions of astrocytes.
