Power Versus Energy,ear that local power dissipation (power density) is a key parameter. Tremendously increasing power densities push chip temperatures to the limit. Energy is a key parameter when considering battery lifetime, energy supply by power plants and energy costs.

Triple-S Circuit Designs,l have to be exchanged for a deterioration of other parameters. First the effectiveness of leakage reduction by Triple-S will be considered. Thereafter, the penalty on speed, area and functional power dissipation is described in section 8.3. Finally, in section 8.4 the application of Triple-S in GSM and UMTS systems is evaluated.
