Chronic Inhalation Toxicity Studies: Protocols and Pitfalls-term toxicity testing necessitate thorough preparation and assembly of an extensive preliminary toxicity data base. Such studies should only be considered when prechronic (short-term) investigations raise concern about the consequences of long-term inhalation of the material under consideration, or when regulatory requirements mandate them.
