In contrast to the lecture presented at the Nürnberg Forum, this text has been reduced to the empiric findings.

Human Rights Education and Religious Education: A Catholic Perspectiveing human rights will be outlined. Secondly, the human rights issue will be looked at exclusively and thoroughly in the context of education. Thirdly, the idea of justice as a background to human rights will be discussed. Lastly, human rights education will be substantiated with the help of the concept “learning to be just”.

Human Rights in the Context of Buddhismades. How relevant is the debate about human rights in this context? Which form can human rights education take and which approaches from Buddhist tradition are useful? I am trying to collect a number of Buddhist arguments and to put them into relation to a discourse with contemporary western philosophical debates about human rights.
