Effects of Growth Hormone on Blood Coagulation and FibrinolysisBoth growth hormone deficiency (GHD) and growth hormone excess (as in acromegaly) are associated with increased risk for cardiovascular disease (1–5). Increased prevalence of lipid disturbances and hypertension are reported in both diseases as well as insulin resistance in GHD and high prevalence of diabetes in acromegaly (6–12).

Effects of GH on Body Compositioniuretic actions. With the availability of new techniques there has been an increased interest in the assessment of body composition in various disorders including GH diseases. This paper will shortly describe the different methods for determining body composition, and the changes occurring secondary to GH treatment in GH deficient patients.
