Some Aspects on Structural Optimization of Ceramic Structuresspecially the material behaviour which for this reason has to be carefully considered in order to find optimal layouts of components and design variants. i.e. various kinds of failure and reliability criteria must be taken into account. Shape Optimization Using Boundary Elementsent method was used not only to solve the state equations, but also to provide sensitivity analysis. The analogous formulation of the problem, but treated using the different method, was studied in [1].

Bernard Bett,Johanna Lindahl,Grace Deliahape design are discussed. The technique of cubic splines boundary approximation provides good shape flexibility using relatively small number of design variables. Some numerical results illustrating different problems are presented.

Some Approaches for Shape Finding in Optimal Structural Designand constraints very easily. However since we have to preselect the position of the moving boundary as well as the type of the blending function, the process of finding an optimal shape is quite predetermined. We are for instance not able to create automatically voids.
