Gamma-Ray Astronomy and the Holistic Galaxyistribution of galactic gas and cosmic rays. This picture is intrinsically tied to the overall processes of stellar birth and destruction on a galactic scale. Since it requires the balanced and coordinated use of multiwavelength studies to complete this scenario of the galaxy, it seems appropriate to refer to it as a holistic one.

Ultra High Energy Astronomys discussed. Recent results from the CYGNUS experiment with regard to steady emission from sources such as Cygnus X-3 and Herculus X-l are compared with those from other experiments. Criteria for next generation of detectors are developed and discussed.

Constraints on the Production Mechanism of TeV γ-Rays in X-Ray Binaries of the absorption regions, the accretion disk corona, causes very strong attenuation of TeV γ-rays produced near to its centre, and suggests that a more likely method for their creation would be the dumping of a proton beam into some outlying matter, such as the rim of the accretion disk.
