Rethinking Our Models of Wall Painting Conservation: Are We Doing the Right Thing?,ed by other considerations. Consequently, many current models of practice are failing to address key concerns. A radical rethinking of priorities is urgently required. Proactive models of conservation that broaden concepts of context and reemphasise its importance offer ways to address our problems before they reach crisis levels.

Wall Painting Materials and Techniques of the Mogao Grottoes,eing the caves, has succeeded in establishing the main pigments and organic colorants used in the creation of the paintings, and has developed a set of analytical approaches and techniques for better understanding their technology. As an example, this paper examines in detail the wall painting technology of Cave 98.
