Topography of βNGF receptor-positive and AChe-reactive neurons in the central nervous system septal nuclei and in the basal forebrain, including the striatum. In the brainstem, βNGF receptors are present on the neurons in the lower part of the reticular formation and in cochlear nuclei but do not correspond to the distribution of AChE reactivity.

Cholinergic modulation of hippocampal epileptic activity ,mpal neurons (Cole and Nicoll, 1984). Likewise, topical application of acetylcholine (ACh) or analogue drugs to the hippocampus produces sustained paroxysms (Baker and Benedict, 1968).
