In the present review, I shall give a brief description of the techniques used to culture adult atrial cardiocytes and of the ultrastructure, DNA synthetic activity and atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) production of adult atrial cardiocytes in culture.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-011-6893-9ewly isolated cells, however, because the latter are probably in an abnormal metabolic state after isolation due to reversible damage to the plasma membrane during tissue disaggregation. A marked difference is observed in Ca. tolerance, for example.
