Interactions Between Malignant and Non-Malignant Components of the Breastpresent merely 5% of the organ in senility (Figure 1). In contrast, other components such as stroma and adipose tissue form the bulk of the breast although their proportions vary markedly at different stages of development. These elements are not inert and the potential exists for inter-communication between the various compartments of the breast.
