INEL BNCT Program Directions with Respect to Clinical Trials of BNCT,ved, effective treatment for Glioblastoma Multiforme. To address this need, the Program was organized with four goals in mind: (1) develop BNCT as a more effective brain tumor treatment, (2) expand BNCT application to other tumor types, (3) develop better boron compounds, and (4) deploy the technology to serve more patients.

While there is a considerable amount of experience in conventional photon irradiations, as well as a growing base in fast-neutron and charged-particle irradiations, procedures and methods are just being developed and no standards exist for BNCT dose predictions.

Springer Texts in Business and EconomicsPrior to resumption of boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) in patients at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), several preclinical issues need further evaluation. This report briefly addresses two of these issues, particularly characterization of the neutron beam at the Brookhaven Medical Research Reactor (BMRR) and boron compound selection.
