Uptake and Mode of Action of the Peptide Antibiotic Microcin B17anying paper (Moreno ., 1991). MccB 17 is a glycine-rich peptide of about 3,200 daltons (Davagnino .., 1986). It inhibits semiconservative DNA replication, induces the SOS repair system, and finally causes DNA degradation (Herrero & Moreno, 1986; Mayo ., 1988).
