This chapter looks at a new device, the Maverick disk prosthesis, which was developed according to biomechanical principles [21] and in the light of the biomechanical results obtained with the SB Charité and Prodisc. Preliminary results are promising.

Nucleus prosthesis: a new concepted as the logical conclusion. Specific requirements during operation and during the entire life of the implant have to be taken into consideration in developing new solutions.
