Copper(l)-Halide-Catalyzed Substitution of ,,-HaIogen by Alkoxide,. RS. and RSe. can substitute chlorine, and in a few cases, even bromine. In all substitutions strongly polar solvents such as .,.-dimethylformamide (DMF) and hexamethylphosphoric triamide (HMPT) were used. Some of these reactions have preparative significance. The same group of Italian chemists [6]
