A Feminist History of Cooking: From Hunter-Gatherer to Peasant Cooking,’s definition of cuisine as a product of a particular geographic, climatic and historical context, it is argued that the world’s innumerable regional cuisines have been developed by women’s domestic cooking. This stands in stark contrast to the common masculinist tradition of claiming cuisine to be a result of men’s professional cooking.
