A real-time test-bed-based performance analysis is carried out to study some of the most important factors that influence and tune the performance of the VoIP soft phones in WLAN.

Optimization of Codec Parameters to Reduce Packet Loss Over WLAN,nvironments. However, most of them follow a reactive strategy based on packet loss information to switch codecs. In this chapter, a special codec parameter, namely pps, has been analyzed and an algorithm based on proactive strategy is proposed to decrease the pps in the WLAN access points so as to reduce the packet loss due to buffer overflow.

Technique for Improving VoIP Performance Over Wireless LANs,parameters of the VoIP soft phones are analyzed and optimized to support both voice and video calls. Finally, an optimization algorithm is proposed for proper selection of threshold parameters in active queue.
