Visible Light Photoredox Catalyzed Trifluoromethylation-Ring Expansion via Semipinacol Rearrangemens the second smallest atomic radius after hydrogen (r. = 1.47 and 1.20 Å, respectively) and it is the most electronegative element in the periodic table; electronically, fluorine is more similar to its neighbor oxygen (Pauling scale: χ(F): 4.0 and χ(O): 3.5) than other halogens.
