,Ellen Mary Clerke (1840–1906) Poet and Writer on Literary and Scientific Subjects,Ellen Mary Clerke was born on 26 September, 1840 in Skibbereen, County Cork, approximately one and a half years before her sister Agnes (see Chapter 3 for details of their family background). Perhaps it was the closeness in their ages that helped to bond these ladies in friendship, so that they remained harmoniously together throughout their lives.

We illustrate these points by drawing on a range of examples, both from computer models and from the real world. These observations suggest that a closer link should be established in AI between research on aesthetics, embodied cognition and perception, and analogy-making.
