Focusing on the User,Throughout my years as a front-end developer, my thoughts while building out websites and applications for the web revolved around delivering a consistent and functional interface. More specifically, it was about how I would create that consistency in one of, if not, the most inhospitable environments in the digital world: the web browser.

Building Empathy,Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, to be able to put yourself in their shoes. Empathy can easily be confused with sympathy, which is actually about feeling compassion or pity for the difficulties of another individual, but lacks the aspect of understanding the feelings of the party to which you are sympathetic.

Adjusting the Developer Perspective, both in-house and in external agencies – viewed as a production line that churns out the code. The goal of that production line is to deliver against the business goals, with a concentration on efficiency, delivering to release windows, and can, in some cases, be treated as a commodity by product owners or the organization at large.
