Flow of Nematic Liquid Crystals in a Microfluidic Environment,n the surface-induced ordering of the LC phase. In this chapter, we shall see how microfluidics of anisotropic liquid crystals provide functional features that are typically not achievable in flows of isotropic fluids.

Nematic Colloids in Microfluidic Confinement,, nematic colloids will be applied to extract information about the flow-induced director orientation. This chapter is expected to project some distinct capabilities of LC-based microfluidics, as compared to isotropic fluidics.

Ongoing Research, understanding of the phenomena, the ideas pertain to the exploration of LC based microfluidics as a generic platform of broader appeal and essence. Here I shall briefly present three such instances which I am currently investigating.

Introduction,e flow-ordering coupling can be harnessed to study a variety of phenomena distinct from those observed in microfluidics with isotropic fluids. Liquid crystals microfluidics offers us a unique platform to develop applications based on these complex interactions.

2190-5053 nsive coverage through illustrations and gradual developmentThis work represents one of the first comprehensive attempts to seamlessly integrate two highly active interdisciplinary domains in soft matter science – microfluidics and liquid crystals (LCs). Motivated by the lack of fundamental experime
