Surprisingly, little of this scholarshiphas thus far made its way into the field of education, where Dewey‘sphilosophy has traditionally had a wide influence. Many of the authorsof this collection are philosophers who have created some of the mostoriginal and influential work in this new scholarship. Five of them --Larry Hickman, Thomas M. Alexander, Raymond D. Boisvert, and J.E.Tiles -- have written major books that have received wideinternational acclaim. .Among the philosophers of education some, like Philip W. Jackson, areamong the best known names in the entire international field, and havekept pace with Deweyan scholarship for many years. Others are youngerscholars who know the new scholarship well. Finally, two prominentfeminists contribute important new work on Dewey, expanding the domainof the new scholarship on Dewey. One of them, Susan Laird, has had herwork cited in the new biography of John Dewey by Robert Westbrook.. | 出版日期 | Book 1995 | 关键词 | Action; ETA; John Dewey; aesthetics; biography; curriculum; democracy; education; linguistics; nature; philoso | 版次 | 1 | doi | https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-011-0071-7 | isbn_softcover | 978-0-7923-3446-0 | isbn_ebook | 978-94-011-0071-7 | copyright | Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 1995 |
