Surveys of Local AGN’sWe review the optical, X-ray and infrared surveys of local AGN’s, discussing the limitations and biases of each of them. We conclude that no single survey may lead to a complete sample but that all of them must be used simultaneously to build a meaningful luminosity function.

Large Scale Ionized Gas in Radio Galaxies and Quasars of the much smaller Narrow Line Region in the spiral Seyferts. Observations of this gas carry information about the galaxy and its active nucleus and can now be interpreted in the context of X-ray observations of hot gas and 21 cm observations of cold gas in the same systems.
