描述Every bone fracture must be held rigid and, because of the long healing process, infringes on the individual‘s life-style. Treatment with ultrasound, however, may reduce the healing time 30-50% since the piezoelectric effect of ultrasound acts as a callus stimulator. This book documents more than twenty years of clinical experience with ultrasound treatment of fractures. The authors give statistical evidence and show numerous X-rays to document their success. They also include a summary of experimental studies. The method is described in detail so that the practicing physician can easily learn how to apply it.

Introduction, ues, more in bone. In the past 100 years a great many attempts have been made to accelerate the process of fracture healing. Unlike the healing of soft-tissue wounds, fracture healing requires the immobilization of entire body parts, prolonged inactivity, and the associated prolonged suspension or r

Also, we initially formed control groups of 200 patients for each type of fracture, administering conventional treatment to half the patients in each group and ultrasound treatment to the other half. What Is Ultrasound?,ely used in practice are either of the magnetostrictive or piezoelectric type. The magnetostrictive effect uses magnetic energy to generate ultrasound waves by producing a cyclic change in the length of metal rods. Piezoelectric transducers generate ultrasound by the transformation of a high-frequen
