Introduction to Molecular Spectroscopy, are also given. The molecular orbitals for AH., HAB and AB. molecules are discussed with the aid of Walsh diagrams. The spectra which have been observed for these molecules are summarized together with the molecular geometries which have been derived from the analyses of the optical spectra.

Techniques of Flash Photolysis,m simple experiments. Properties of a flash photolysis apparatus are illustrated by seven units built in Uppsala ranging from 500J to 200,000J in energy and lamp voltages between 1kV and 100kV. Some simple statistical means for the interpretation of experimental data are also given.

Spectroscopic Theory of the Solvent Cage,uences in the spectroscopy of polyatomic molecules in rigid solvent matrices can be predicted. Explicit consideration was given to molecular torsional potentials, the Dushinsky potential, the hydrogen-bonding potential, and a variety of molecular potentials in the region of large intermolecular distortions.
