The discussion is also expanded to include accounts of the physics at a relatively simple level, following the development of the magnetization vectors as each pulse sequence is introduced. The emphasis on the uses of NMR spectroscopy in structure determination is retained. Infrared and Raman Spectra,dard practice uses a frequency scale in the form of wavenumbers, which are the reciprocals of the wavelength, cm.. The useful range of the infrared for an organic chemist is between 4000 cm. at the high-frequency end and 600 cm. at the low-frequency end.
