Gene Transfer in Woody Plants: Perspectives and Limitationseny has been demonstrated. Unexpected genetic variability may be associated with foreign gene transfer in plants. This variability may be a cause of concern in long-lived tree species, following foreign gene transfer. Perspectives and limitations of foreign gene transfer will be discussed in plants, in particular tree species.

Experiments on . culture and micropropagation of mahogany suggest that mass propagation of this tree is possible using this method, particularly because of decline in natural populations.

Differential Norms of Reaction in Tissue Culture of Birch MS-medium (Murashige and Skoog 1962)..The results show, that under the applied conditions the genotypic effects have a stronger influence on the phenotype than the environmental effects have.
