,Mercury — Zinc and other Mercury Types of Battery,s used in their construction. Thus mercury batteries are only one-third the size of conventional dry batteries of the same capacity. The mercury batteries discussed below are characterised, in addition to high energy density, by a steady voltage on discharge and the absence of recuperation periods.
