Character Formation and the Psychology of Role-Playing and Acting,sense actors have that they “become” or do not become the characters they play. To provide a synthesis of these aspects of the psychology of acting and social role-playing, the discussion will draw on the observations of writers in areas ranging from sociological role theory to developmental psychology to the training of actors.
