Seismic Assessment of RC Frame Buildings story mechanism occurs also in the case of the bare frame structure. The infills shift the mechanism from the third to the first storey. There is good agreement of the results obtained by the N2 method and NDA. The results indicate that both variants of the building are able to survive the design ground motion.

Estimation of Rotational Ground Motion Effects on the Bell Tower of Parma Cathedralquivalent to the detailed finite element model was prepared, taking into account soil compliance as well as the rocking excitation effects. The results of computations show rather substantial, 30–40 % contribution of the rocking excitations in the overall seismic response.
