Solar Models with Convective Overshootopacity tables by tables from Lawrence Livermore. For the calculated models the thickness lies between 0.13 and 0.19 of a pressure scale height. We also propose a model with a smoothed transition from the overshoot layer to the radiative core, obtained by a limitation of the temperature excess of the convection eddies.

A Calibration of Mixing Length Theory Based on RHD Simulations of Solar-Type Convectionh theory (MLT), s is translated to an effective mixing-length parameter (..) appropriate to construct global stellar models. The calibration based on our present set of 2D RHD models shows a moderate variation of .. across the domain of the HRD investigated so far.

A Precision-Controlled Solar Model with Realistic Subatmospheric Stratificationry conditions at τ ≈ 20 have been implemented. In addition, a spatially variable mixing length has been employed to reproduce the T-P-stratification of the outer convective layers as calculated by 2D-hydrodynamical models. We find that the changes in the subatmospheric regions lead to a further improvement of the solar model.

Compressible Turbulence′, .″ and ρ′ are related by a poly trope. Thus, there is only one free parameter, the polytropic index .. This can be contrasted with the incompressible treatments which contain several adjustable parameters.
