Mathematical Modelling of Real Physical Systems,Mathematical model depicts functional correspondence between the input variables and output variables of a real physical system. These mathematical functions may be linear or nonlinear and may contain a room for uncertainty depending upon the complexity of the real physical system.

Control-Oriented Linear Fractional Transformation,The process of obtaining the mathematical representation of the physical system is termed ‘modelling‘. The basic concept of modelling of the dynamic system is based on the differential equations to describe the appropriate physical situation.

,Control-Oriented LFT Modelling of a Two-DOF Spring–Mass–Dashpot Dynamic System,A two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) spring–mass–dashpot (SMD) is a well-known benchmark system. During the modelling of complicated dynamic systems, we may find one or more SMD combinations as sub-systems of the plant. Therefore, it has been considered as a candidate system for the implementation of the control-oriented LFT modelling approach.
