New Materials from Thermal and Photoinduced Ring Opening Metathesis Polymerisation (ROMP/PROMP),r developed ruthenium-phosphines as catalysts are described. The low oxidative stability was improved by copolymerization with so-called “build-in” antioxidants (AOs), i.e. hindered phenols or aromatic amines bearing 2-norbornene units.

ROMP of Norbornene Derivatives of Amino-Esters and Amino-Acids,ropane (115 kJ / mol). The main reasons for this high strain energy are distortions of the bond angles around the bridging CH. group and the alkene unit, and eclipsing of the ring hydrogens due to the six-membered ring being confined to a boat conformation as shown in Figure 1.

ROMP Polymers in Electronic Applications: Conjugated Polymers, Polyelectrolytes and Photoresist Polfor the application of polymers in electronic applications one has to consider the various tasks polymers can fulfil in the world of electronics. In this article we do not want to talk further about this kind of application with the only exception of photoresists, which play an important role in microelectronics.
