Resilience: An Introduction,In a working environment in which the work density and thus the workload at the workplace is increasing more and more, it is all the more important to remain stress-tolerant and in balance. Up to now, concepts of stress balance have been used for this purpose, but these only pick up at the point when initial stress behaviour is already present.

Definition of Resilience,Based on the studies and the insights gained from the above chapters, resilience is defined below – as far as the current state of science allows. As resilience research has only been considered a scientific discipline in its own right for just under 20 years, further results from ongoing studies are still expected.
