Resonance Effects in RHEEDThe phenomenon of resonances has been observed since the early days of electron diffraction from surfaces. A few examples will be described as an introduction.

Temperature Diffuse Scattering in RHEEDDiffuse scattering of fast electrons (in the 10 keV range) from crystals is in general caused by deviations of the crystalline structure from the regular periodic atomic arrangement or by inelastic scattering. Temperature diffuse scattering (TDS) especially is caused by the thermal vibration of the atoms around their equilibrium positions.
