,The Monstrous Masculinities of Chile’s Agrarian Reform, 1965–1970,ed characters whose “monstrous” (though cosmopolitan) performances of masculinity queered ideas about normative reproductive practices. This chapter critiques ideas about modernization to draw parallels between these literary and cinematic models of queerness and the rise of Chile as a new hemispheric model of economic good practices.
