The Collective Coordinate Method and Bloch Wall Motion the so-called “collective coordinate method”. It is meant to be a tutorial and very informal approach to the subject. Although the emphasis will be on magnetic systems the method can also be applied to many other non-linear one dimensional field theoretical models.

Linear Response and Thermal Equilibrium Noise of Magnetic Materials at Low Temperature: Logarithmic ilibrium. Several different temperature dependencies have been found including temperature independent viscosities and crossover to temperature dependent behaviours. We discuss these results in connection with the problem of the quantum tunnelling of the magnetization.
