The Role of Photon Statistics in Visual Perceptional, and single-photon sources. Accurate control over photon statistics of light stimuli, combined with technique for the readout of rod cells response, enable precise and unambiguous characterization of intrinsic features of the visual system at single and discrete photon levels.
