描述.Quantitative Sociodynamics. presents a general strategyfor interdisciplinary model building and its application to aquantitative description of behavioural changes based on socialinteraction processes. Originally, the crucial methods for themodeling of complex systems (stochastic methods and nonlineardynamics) were developed in physics but they have very often provedtheir explanatory power in chemistry, biology, economics and thesocial sciences. ..Quantitative Sociodynamics. provides a unified and comprehensiveoverview of the different stochastic methods, their interrelations andproperties. In addition, it introduces the most important conceptsfrom nonlinear dynamics (synergetics, chaos theory). The applicabilityof these fascinating concepts to social phenomena is carefullydiscussed. By incorporating decision-theoretical approaches a veryfundamental dynamic model is obtained which seems to open newperspectives in the social sciences.
