描述 | Embedded systems are characterized by the presence ofprocessors running application-specific software. Recent years haveseen a large growth of such systems, and this trend is projected tocontinue with the growth of systems on a chip. Many of these systemshave strict performance and cost requirements. To design thesesystems, sophisticated timing analysis tools are needed to accuratelydetermine the extreme case (best case and worst case) performance ofthe software components. .Existing techniques for this analysis have one or more of thefollowing limitations: . .they cannot modelcomplicated programs..they cannot model advancedmicro-architectural features of the processor, such as cache memoriesand pipelines ..they cannot be easily retargeted for new hardwareplatforms. .. .In .Performance Analysis of Real-Time Embedded Software., a newtiming analysis technique is presented to overcome the abovelimitations. The technique determines the bounds on the extreme case(best case and worst case) execution time of a program when running ona given hardware system. It partitions the problem into twosub-problems: program path analysis and microarchitecture modeling...Performance Analysis of Real-T |
